Call for Nominations: EETN Annual Award for Best PhD Dissertation in Artificial Intelligence

The Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society (EETN) invites nominations for its annual Best PhD Dissertation Award in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The award includes a monetary prize of €1,000, and the nominated dissertations will be presented in a dedicated session to be held in December 2025.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The submitted dissertation must fall within the broader scientific domain of Artificial Intelligence and must have been defended at a Greek University between January 1st and December 31st, 2024.
  • Both the supervisor and the doctoral graduate must be members of EETN at the time of nomination.

Submission Process:

Nominations must be submitted by the supervisor and sent via email by October 30th, 2025, to: info@eetn.gr 

The submitted file must include the following:

  • A cover letter with the names and contact details of the supervisor and the PhD graduate, the date of the dissertation defense, and the names of the seven-member examination committee.
  • A recommendation letter from the supervisor explaining why the dissertation deserves the award.
  • The full dissertation in PDF format.
  • A list of publications (journal or conference papers) derived from the dissertation.

Selection Process:

The award will be granted by a five-member committee composed of EETN Honorary Members. The selection will be based on the originality of the dissertation, the quality and relevance of related publications and presentations to date, its overall scientific contribution, and its anticipated impact on the field.
