Individual Member Application

Member Types & Benefits

According to the statutes of EETN, members are distinguished into individual (student or regular) and collective/corporate. Find out below about the category that suits you best. Applications are evaluated from the EETN Board of Directors on a monthly basis, usually end of the second week of each month. 

Membership fees are payed through bank transfer to the EETN bank account in AlphaBank (ΙΒΑΝ:  GR3001402470247002002000958).

STUDENT

Join the AI community and start taking advantage of opportunities!

Student members do not have the right to vote or be elected and do not pay an annual subscription. They have an active student status.

Pre-requisites

The candidate member is required:

1| to be attending an undergraduate or postgraduate program of studies that includes courses in Artificial Intelligence, or

2 | to be pursuing doctoral-level studies with a dissertation topic that falls within the field of Artificial Intelligence.

Visibility & updates: Promotion on EETN’s website and social media + addition to the EETN mailing list (jobs, activities, opportunities)

Participation & networking: scientific member meetings 

Discounts: EETN conference, EurAI conferences and summer schools (ECAI/ACAI/ESSAI etc.), events under the auspices of EETN

Recognition: eligibility for EETN & EurAI awards (Best Doctoral Thesis Awards)

Support for further development: eligibility for EETN scholarships (e.g., for presenting a paper at AI conferences/workshops, participation in AI summer schools)

Experience & growth: participation in EETN activities, such as mentoring4schools, organizing hackathons/challenges, international collaborations, programs with startups and/or other companies with R&D activities.

Student members pay no fees.

REGULAR

Become a member & help shape the greek AI community!

Regular members have full voting rights and eligibility to be elected. They have expertise in a sub-field of Artificial Intelligence.

Pre-requisites

The candidate member is required:

1| to hold a university degree from Greece or abroad in Artificial Intelligence, or

2 | to hold a university degree from Greece/abroad and

  • a postgraduate degree (at least equivalent to an M.Sc.) in Artificial Intelligence, or
  • have sufficient research/development work in the field of Artificial Intelligence, evidenced by relevant publications or technical reports.

Participation in governance: Board of Directors elections & General Assemblies

Voice in AI policy: participation in drafting EETN policy/position statements, eligible to nominate candidates for the EETN Honorary Member Distinction

Visibility & updates: Promotion of the member (and/or their research group) on EETN’s website and social media + addition to the EETN mailing list (jobs, activities, opportunities)

Networking: EETN member meetings, participation in EETN events and discussions with other organisations

Access to talent/collaborations: proposing topics for diploma theses/PhDs + internships, collaborations with other members (individual and corporate/collective)

International recognition: elligibility for EurAI Fellow, EurAI Distinguished Service Award, ECAI Distinguished Speaker, ECAI General Chair and Programme Chair, etc.

Discounts: EETN conference, EurAI conferences and summer schools (ECAI/ACAI/ESSAI etc.), events under the auspices of EETN

Support for further development: eligibility for EETN scholarships (e.g., for presenting a paper at AI conferences/workshops, participation in AI summer schools)

Yearly fees of regular members amount to 15 euros. 

CORPORATE | COLLECTIVE

Collaboration, access to talent, an active member of the AI ecosystem!

It concerns legal entities of public or private law with research and development activities in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

Pre-requisites

The candidate corporate or collective member is required:

1| to have research and development activities in the field of AI, and

2| to operate in Greece (headquarters or branch) and/or

3| to employ individuals in AI research and development positions, based in Greece.

Executive membership: Senior executives (e.g., CTO/CEO) are enrolled as regular members (if they meet the criteria) with no additional fees. “R&D for AI” staff acquire student membership rights (provided they meet the requirements, except for active student status).

Presence & networking: appearance on EETN’s website and social media

Discounts & access: EETN conference, EurAI events, events under the auspices of EETN

Recruiting & connection with academia: access to EETN student and regular members’ pool, suggestion of topics for diploma theses, dissertations, and projects + internship/practicum positions

Collaborations & social impact: opportunities for research collaboration with EETN individual and collective members pool, opportunities for contributing to EETN activities with social impact (e.g. mentoring4schools)

Co-organization & promotion: joint activities (e.g., hackathons) + dissemination of material at EETN events and channels

The annual fees for companies are calculated based on the number of staff members:

1–10 people: 100 euros
11–50 people: 200 euros
51+ people: 400 euros

The annual fees for collective entities, including Universities, Research Centers, Research Institutes, and other public sector organizations, amounts to 200 euros.
