Greek scientific and business mission in Abu Dhabi, 22-24/02/2022

The Greek Ministry of Development and Investment sent a research and scientific mission in Abu Dhabi, UAE at 22-24/02/2022. Headed by Mr. Christos Dimas, Deputy Minister of Development and Investments of Greece, the delegation included 7 Greek Research Centers, 15 start-ups of Elevate Greece and the 4th generation Technology Park -ThessINTEC.

The aim of the Greek mission was extroversion and cooperation with investors, research centers and institutions of the UAE as well as the presentation of our country’s progress in Research and Innovation.

Two of the mission’s significant meetings were the following:

– The presentations of the delegation’s members at the Greek Innovation Business Forum of the Expo 2020 Dubai.

– The mission’s visit to Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBIZUAI) – “the world’s first university dedicated entirely to Artificial Intelligence” – which offers specialized postgraduate studies in Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing.

Dr. Anestis Fahantidis, EETN’s Board Member and CEO of Medoid AI, participated in the mission and stressed the need for cooperation, as the great progress of the UAE, especially in the field of energy and logistics, presents significant challenges and opportunities for the development and implementation of AI systems. Particular emphasis was placed on the very high academic level of Greece in the field of AI and the human resources that are available for cooperation in any AI need.
